Precious Metal Analysis

Choosing the best method for the determination of precious metals is dependent on the type of sample matrix, particle size and distribution of the metal and the objective of the analytical result. On Site Laboratory Services offers a variety of analytical methods to optimise the analysis of precious metal samples. These include:

• Trace level Au by fire assay at nominal 50g charge
• Ore grade Au by fire assay at nominal 25g charge
• Soil and Stream Sediment Au by fire assay at nominal 50g charge
• Trace level Ag by aqua regia digestion and ICP-OES finish
• Ore grade Ag by fire assay and gravimetric finish
• Concentrate analysis of Au and Ag by fire assay and gravimetric finish
• Trace level and Ore grade Platinum and Palladium by Fire assay with an ICP-OES finish
• Routine Bullion analysis via fire assay and gravimetric finish
• Analysis of Au in solution via extraction with AAS finish. Additional elements can be determined via ICP-OES
• Carbon Au, Ag and Cu via ashing, aqua regia and AAS finish. Additional elements can be determined from the ashed carbon via ICP-OES

Exploration Geochemistry

A variety of techniques are available for exploration geologists to use in the evaluation of geochemical samples. On Site Laboratory Services offer a range of geochemistry packages to optimise the precision and dissolution for various elements, these include:

• Low grade and Ore grade methods for mineralised samples by various digestion techniques with ICP-OES finish
• Elemental analysis by XRF
• Hg analysis via hydride generation
• Carbon and sulphur analysis including different speciation's via combustion furnace

Extractable Gold & Cyanide Leach

The use of differing leaching conditions including cyanide concentration, accelerants and the identification of preg-robbing material optimises the leaching process. Services offered are:

• Au by accelerated CN leach using LeachWELL Assay Tabs with AAS finish
• Au and Ag by metallurgical staged leaches, including Au and Ag in cyanide solution or captured on activated carbon.
